"I am not homos.e.x.ual, I am still single

Is Derenle G.a.y.?
I think people believe what they want to believe.

But a lot of people believe you are. And to prove them right, a picture of you Charley Boy went viral on the internet recently…
I don’t read the news, I make the news. The thing is people tend to look for loopholes when they see you doing well. And since people feel I’m feminine in nature, then they think I’m g.a.y. But the truth is I don’t really care about what people say because I’m not fashioned according to what the society expects. And also I think for my personality, if I were g.a.y, the news would have grown from speculations and would have been in people’s face.On the part of Charley Boy and me, I was not expecting the paparazzi that came with the picture.

So what was the picture about then?
I really don’t want to go into details, but it could have been a controversial agenda, it could have a been a publicity stunt, it could have been the real deal and it could have been photoshopped, but whatever it was, people should just go ahead and make their conclusions.

So why is Denrele still single?
I’m a hustler and I’m still trying to get myself together. When the time comes, I’ll get married definitely, but there’s no one in the picture now. I’m searching and ready to mingle.

Who is your ideal woman?
I like someone who would not try to change me and who would understand the complexity that I am. I want someone simple and absolutely free and not intimidated by what I represent.

BBA 2013:We can’t believe we were pranked

We can’t believe we were prankedWe can’t believe we were prankedNow that the Emeralds are out of the game and the Housemates have proven themselves right and some wrong aboutthe Emeralds, life can go on as usual. The game was made interesting by Biggie by introducing the mysterious six and the Housemates were left with a bitter taste in their mouths.

This morning after the exercise routine,Sulu and Elikem couldn’t get over the fact that they were pranked and that they were compeltely sold by the Emerald’s existence. Biggie sure knows how to keep the Housemates on their toes.

Elikem started counting how many days of The Chase are left and how many will be leaving per week from here on. “This is the ninth week and so maybe one person will be leaving this Sunday and the rest of the weekends it will be two each,” he said speculating the situation.

Annabel admitted that the Emeralds were pretty good actors but they didn’t have all of them fooled. Cleo said that she told JJ that he was the only one that was holding it down for Zimbabwe and he did not feel fazed about that fact, with Cleo not knowing that he was on a mission to prank them. None of the Housemates can ever accuse Biggie of being boring again, that’s for sure.

What other pranks do you think Biggie has up his sleeve for the Housemates?

unilorin-and-federal-govts-new-education-agenda-

ON his maiden visit to the University of Ilorin during the last week of June, the new Pro-Chancellor and Council Chairman of the University, Prof. Chukwuka Okonjo, came with a message from the Federal Government, the institution’s proprietor. The respected Obi of Ugwashiuku, Delta State, told a cross-section of the university stakeholders that the Federal Government, worried by the wonky standard of education in the country, has a new mandate for the University of Ilorin to help salvage the nation’s dwindling global educational rating and restore Nigeria to its former position of reckoning in world universities’ ranking.

The Council chairman disclosed that the authorities in Abuja are worried that despite the fact that Nigeria is the second fastest growing economy in the world today, none of its universities is ranked among the best 5000 in the world. Obi Okonjo, however, explained that the antecedents of the University of Ilorin have given the government some confidence that with the necessary support, the university could make Nigeria proud. “There used to be a time when Nigeria used to feature as one of the best 200 universities in the world”, the Council Chairman said, adding, “It is important that you understand that we are in a new era; the people in Abuja want you (Unilorin) to show that Nigeria can deliver and within the next two or three years, they want you (Unilorin) to ensure that Nigeria is among the best 500 universities in the world”.

In other words, encouraged by the antecedents of the second generation university, the Federal Government is targeting the University of Ilorin to champion the new vision of uplifting university education in the country. This entails the improvement of the standard and access to university education as a prelude to improving the nation’s global rating in the comity of tertiary educational institutions.

Keen watchers of the steadily rising profile of the University of Ilorin in the last five to six years are not at all surprised by the decision of the Federal Government to pick the university to pioneer the implementation of this noble vision. Over the years, the university has proved to be a centre of academic excellence. In the past four years, Unilorin has been consistently ranked the best university in Nigeria by different international ranking agencies including Web of World Universities (Webometric), which ranked the university the best in Nigeria for three consecutive years of 2009, 2010 and 2011, and one of the best 20 in Africa”. Statistics have also shown that the university has the most stable and consistent academic calendar in the country, which makes it the most sought-after institution by admission seekers.

All these feats are not lost on education policy makers in the country, who, at every given opportunity, do not fail to acknowledge the numerous giant strides recorded by the “better by far” university. During their separate oversight visits to the university on May 7, 2013 and June 1, 2013, members of the House of Representatives and Senate Committees on Education could not hide their impressions about the academic excellence and environmental aesthetics of the university as well as the peaceful and orderly comportment of its staff and students. The respective chairmen of the two National Assembly committees spoke glowingly about the university.

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Education, Senator Uche Chukwumerije, who led his colleagues to the university on June 1, commended the university for maintaining a stable academic calendar for over 10 years, noting that it is a great achievement for any public university in Nigeria to maintain such academic excellence despite the prevailing challenges. He said that “this academic stability is a feat which should make the University of Ilorin a model to all universities in Nigeria.”

Senator Chukwumerije, who is not given to flattery, said that members of the Committee were very impressed with the well “manicured” premises and serene environment of the university campus, pointing out that the university “is the cleanest of all the universities the Committee had so far visited in the country.”

Similar sentiments were expressed about four weeks earlier by members of the House of Representatives Committee on Education, led by Hon. Shehu Garba. After meeting with the university management and a drive round the campus to inspect on-going and newly completed projects, the lawmakers gave kudos to the University “for its accomplishments in the areas of academic excellence, efficient system of administration, environmental beautification, infrastructural development and sustained high ranking among universities in the world.”

The leader of the House of Representatives team, Hon Garba, said, “As a Nigerian I am very proud to be at the University of Ilorin. I graduated close to 30 years ago and I am worried by what has become of the standard of education in our country since then. But for me to be here and seeing what I have seen, I feel very hopeful and I feel elated that in the midst of the decay, we have an institution of excellence with very beautiful infrastructure.

And I believe that it is not just the beautiful infrastructure; that we are all aware of the ranking of the University of Ilorin in the comity of universities in the world. You are one of the few universities in the country that is often

mentioned outside Nigeria as a centre of academic excellence. And so I feel very proud to come here to see things for myself. I must commend the Vice-Chancellor and his able team for the good things they are doing. I must say that you have a lot of prospects to build on what you have been able to accomplish to give us something that we can be proud of that we have an institution in this country that can be compared with any reputable university in the world.”

It could be seen from the foregoing that truly, the confidence that the Federal Government has on the ability and willingness of the University of Ilorin to deliver on the new mandate is not misplaced. And it is heart-warming to note that all stakeholders in the university community are enthusiastically keying into the government’s vision, a situation that makes its implementation easy and its attainability assured.

While assuring the Federal Government of the university’s readiness to implement the government’s new vision to the letter, Obi Okonjo, said the new University Council, under his chairmanship, has taken up the government’s challenge and prayed God to lead the Council to formulate appropriate policies to achieve the task. Also, the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali, noted that the Federal Government has given the University of Ilorin a big task, adding, “Every staff member of the University has a responsibility to champion this new thinking of the Federal Government”.

Prof. Ambali said, “It is heartwarming that the Federal Government, based on our antecedents, has singled Unilorin out to be the pioneer of the new formula of tertiary education in the country and we are ready for the task.”

Also, all the staff unions on campus and the student body have expressed their readiness to continue to give the management the necessary complementary support in its determined effort to ensure the full and successful implementation of the new government mandate. This is reassuring, as it means that all stakeholders in the university are on the same page. And nothing demonstrates this assurance better than what the Unilorin Branch Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Prof. Abdulwahab Egbewole, said during the meeting between the Council Chairman and leaders of all the staff unions in the universities, i.e. ASUU, SSANU, NASU, and NAAT. The ASUU leader said, “The mantra of our union, which is unionism for development, coincides with the vision to make the University of Ilorin the best in Africa”.

What more evidence does one need that at Unilorin, the urge for advancement runs in the veins of every stakeholder? And, to put it succinctly, that is the secret of the university’s quantum leap in all spheres of its endeavours these past few years!

To be sure, the University of Ilorin is ready, willing and able for the task ahead, a task that is in synch with its founding philosophy of excellence in teaching, research and community development. Indeed, Unilorin is raring to go!

Robert Mugabe, Zimbabwe President, Threatens To Behead Gay Citizens

Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe, who in the past has called tolerance for gay rights "unnatural" and "filth," has yet again made his views known surrounding recent political and social gains made by LGBT individuals.

Speaking on Tuesday at a rally at the Aerodrome Grounds in Mutare, Mugabe described LGBT people as "worse than pigs, goats and birds" and threatened to behead them, according to NewsDay.

“If you take men and lock them in a house for five years and tell them to come up with two children and they fail to do that, then we will chop off their heads. This thing (homosexuality) seeks to destroy our lineage by saying John and John should wed, Maria and Maria should wed... Obama says if you want aid, you should accept the homosexuality practice... We will never do that.”

Mugabe also accused other African countries of becoming more tolerant of homosexuality because they have become reliant on European countries for aid and support.

The African leader has an extensive history of violent and homophobic statements. During last January's elecetion, President Mugabe ran on a platfrom that assured "hell for gays" if his party won, promising laws that would make LGBTQ individuals rot in jail for life.

According to SW Radio Africa, President Mugabe has publicly condemned and attacked LGBT individual seven times throughout the month of July alone.

The Royal Baby Is The Antichrist''

The royal baby is the Antichrist, or so claims Mark Dice, a prolific writer who focuses on the Illuminati and the Antichrist from the Bible.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, Kate Middleton’s royal baby was announced to the delight of both the British and Americans.

But the royal baby hasn’t been popular with everyone. BBC presenter Simon McCoy bitterly related the announcement as “not that it’s news.” But Mark Dice is making a claim about the royal baby that would probably have most of the British population angry.

Mark Dice gain limited fame last Black Friday when he called American consumerists “brain dead, materialistic morons.” He’s more famous for going around asking people to sign a petition that says Obama supporters should have immunity for their President’s actions. Now Mark Dice is calling the royal baby an Antichrist.

Mark Dice calls the royal baby a baby Baphomet, which is probably not one of Kate Middleton’s top baby name choices. Starting by calling the English “brain dead Brits,” following with “Moloch worshiping moronic Americans,” Mark Dice slices into the royal family of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Mark Dice claims the Windsor family secretly believes themselves the lost tribe of Dan from the Bible. The Windsors supposedly believe themselves the “true chosen people of God” over Jews, something Mark Dice compares to Nazi beliefs and their supposed ancestry with the lost city of Atlantis.

When the royal baby becomes the King of England, Mark Dice proposes the royal baby will be the Antichrist, or at least an Antichrist of the “new world order” or the “new British empire.” Mark Dice says people like the royal baby are worshiped because of their power, linking back to Egyptian history and how royal families used to claim they were descendants of the gods due to their royal blood.

NABBED!!! 1,103 Cult Members Caught In Imo Date

The rising number of youths involved in cultism in Imo State has become a source of worry to the police as many of the suspects arrested have been linked to kidnapping and armed robbery According to the statistics released by the police, over 1,103 cult members had been arrested in the last four months. Majority of the suspects were said to have operated as both link and major actors in kidnapping, armed robbery, assassinations, gang rapping and drug paddling.

Parading some of them in Owerri, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mrs. Joy Elemoko, said: “These cult group members are major cause of the problems facing the society because they are the set of persons that act without any remorse of conscience, they have been terrorising the state in the last four months.”

She said some of them were arrested on their way to initiation, while others were apprehended during disruption of ceremonies and cult rival clashes. Elemoko said: “It may sound unimaginable to note that within this period about 1,103 suspected cult members have been arrested. Surprisingly, most of the suspects are secondary school students. .

“Most of their innocent faces will hardly make one believe they can hurt a fly not to talk of involving in crime until one falls victim or witnesses their heartless, callous and evil escapades.”

E.X.P.O.S.E.D: Real Reasons Tonto Dikeh And Mercy Johnson Are At Loggerheads (LOOK)

The battle going on between these two controversial actresses, Mercy Johnson and Tonto Dikeh is not new to you, but many do not really know the cause of this brouhaha.

We gathered that Tonto was enjoying the best of her time when Mercy got married and later got pregnant, reason being that, she became a hot cake that producers request for in and out of Lagos. Mercy’s short absence created enormous wealth for her and she was really feeding hard on that.

Now, Mercy is fit and active to return to her groove, Tonto, people in the know, got threatened by that and she became so agitated, went on social media to ridicule the mother of one, Mercy.

“Tonto has never liked Mercy. Starting from when Nollywood started shifting ground to Asaba, Mercy was always in hot demand, which obviously made Tonto to begin seeing her as a competitor. This, among other things combined to make them impenitent enemies,” the source, who is a stakeholder in the industry disclosed.

Only God knows what will result to this fight. Meanwhile, the return of Mercy Johnson is causing a lot of stir in Nollywood as all the actresses are seeing it as a threat just like Tonto Dikeh.

What Really happened Between Me & Iyanya; Yvonne Nelson Bares It All

How are you enjoying your stay in Nigeria?
Did I tell you I’m half-Nigerian and half-Ghanaian? I was given a Nigerian name recently which makes me half-Nigerian. My Nigerian name is Damilola. It has been wonderful, I always say Nigeria is like a home for me. When I’m here, I do not feel like going back home again. But it’s just that everything seems to be faster here.

You are in the country to premiere your latest movie. What’s the movie all about?
The movie is titled, ‘House of Gold.’ It is a family-oriented comedy, and I want people to come and see two of Africa’s music stars Ice Prince and Omawumi make their debut in a movie. I produced the movie in partnership with Media Ghana.

“House of Gold” tells the story of Dan Ansah Williams, a high-flying entrepreneur, business mogul, polygamist and socialite who is battling with cancer and has six weeks to live. With the help of his long-time associate and legal representative, he embarks on a mission to recall all his children, most of whom were born out of wedlock, back home.

Dan’s last wish is to have all his children under one roof for seven days so they will get to know one another and bond due to the fact that they share the same blood line. However, that reunion proves a little more than everyone bargained for as each child indeed returns with an agenda, and this sets the stage for the most hilarious and bizarre seven days of their lives. I’m urging people to come and see the movie because they are going to laugh and have a nice time.

How did you get Ice Prince and Omawumi to star in the movie?
It was very challenging given the fact that they are busy people, always performing at shows. I have my own way of doing things. I spoke to them and they gave me their time and schedules, so I worked with it. We spent about 15 days on set.

Your first movie, ‘Single and Married’ was also directed by Paschal Amanfo, what do you have with him?
Paschal is one of the best directors in Ghana. He is a very straightforward director and it’s very easy working with him. You would like to work with somebody who helps make things go smoothly while on set.

What’s your experience like working with Ice Prince and Omawumi on set?
They were amazing on set. Ice Prince was the one who really shocked me because he had a show a night before joining us on set. He did not even sleep, as he took the next flight to Ghana and the moment he stormed the set, he started reading his script and mastering his lines. Omawumi was so good that I was tempted to ask her why she’s not into acting in Nigeria. I also had the funniest Nigerian actor,Francis Odega, on set.

Why did you decide to star the duo in your film?
It’s my own marketing strategy as a producer. I believe they have their own fan base and audiences. I wanted to spice up things. When you watch my movie, my cast are usually very interesting. People are sick and tried of seeing the same Nollywood and Ghollywood faces in our movies. I could have used notable Nollywood actors, but I just wanted to spice up things because I don’t think people are expecting what they are definitely going to see in the movie.

Controversies have been trailing your acting career in recent times; from your break-up with Iyanya to accusations that you bleached your body and more recently, an article posted online where you lamented that Iyanya used and dumped you. Why all these controversies?

Did anybody hear me say that? Nobody used and dumped me. As journalists, you should know that your colleagues are fond of using sensational headlines to drag traffic to their blogs and websites. At the end of the day, I did not say somebody used and dumped me. I don’t remember saying anything like that.

But what actually happened between you and Iyanya?
I guess it is out there. I granted two interviews on this whole thing; Bella Naija and Toolz (The Juice). I don’t want to repeat myself. My interviewers took what they wanted to take away from the interviews I granted them. I don’t have any control over what they decide to publish or put out there.

You have moved on after the break-up?
It happened last year. The reason I granted those interviews was to let my fans know the truth about what transpired between Iyanya and myself. Sometimes, one’s fans desire to know what’s happening to their idol.

How do you address the allegations of lightening your skin?
Do I look like someone who is bleaching? One thing people should understand is that we use a lot of photo tricks. If you watch our movies, for instance, I look a little bit dark but if you see my pictures, I look fair in complexion. Commonsense should tell anyone that the pictures are treated. What happened is that I posted my new picture online and people started alleging that I was bleaching my skin. That’s how the whole thing started. My mum is fairer than me, and my siblings are all fair in complexion. I don’t bleach and I don’t intend lightening my skin.

Do you feel hurt each time you read negative stories about yourself?
I don’t. I don’t even know why they say all the things they say about me. To some people, if you tell them you can fly, they would believe in you. Whatever they read in the dailies, they believe in. It’s good for them. So, I can’t go into everybody’s home to tell them, “Look at me, I haven’t bleached before.” I’m happy with myself.

Are you in any relationship at the moment?
Not that fast. I’m now a “sacred virgin,” meaning you are not a virgin but after a long time, you become a sacred virgin. There are some special people in my life that I hang out with once in a while. But I’m not in any relationship at the moment. I just want to take my time. It’s not as if I’m looking for guys. I believe that when it is the right time, they will come looking for me.

But are you not thinking of settling down?
It’s something that I’m thinking about, but I just want to take my time. More so, I’m still young. However, if it comes my way, why not? But definitely, not with somebody in the entertainment industry.

Meaning that you wouldn’t want to date an entertainer again?
Not at all.

Is it because of your experience with Iyanya?
I guess everybody knows that. It was quite a shocking experience.

Even after your break-up with Iyanya, there were some tweets meant to be an apology to you from one of your contenders, Tonto Dikeh. How did you receive the tweets?
Like I said in my interview with Bella Naija, I hate a situation where you bring a third person into any relationship that I’m involved in. I don’t want to mention names. There are certain things I wouldn’t want to talk about here. I know that those tweets were actually meant for me. There is no problem. I hope she’s happy now because she did whatever she had to do. She advised me to move on, and I wish her good luck.

After reading your interview in Bella Naija, we sought Iyanya’s reaction and he told us you were free to say whatever you wanted to say. Has it got to that extent?
Fine! You guys should go back and read the interview again. We are in a business where everybody is trying to protect his or her fan base. Most of his fans are women while my fans are basically men. So, I would do anything to protect my male fans just as he was trying to protect his female fans. He can’t run away from the truth. I decided to open up because I didn’t want to disappoint my male fans. I was ready to talk about it. And nobody could stop me from doing so.

Given this situation, would you turn down any offer to be on the same set with Tonto Dikeh?
I don’t have any problem with anybody. As a professional, if I get a phone call from a producer and the script is something I like as well as the person directing the film, why not? I will. I’m not fighting with anyone, even though we are not friends. But all the same, whatever tweets she posted were meant for me. It’s okay, there’s nothing wrong with that. We all have our lives to live and were brought up in different backgrounds. I don’t have to respond to anything.

At this point, would you say you were heartbroken?
I once was.

What’s the healing process like?
Just like any other person. I guess everybody goes through heartbreak. It’s a natural thing and as time goes on, you get over it. I can’t sit down at home and cry all day long. I’m occupied with a lot of things; I have movies to shoot, I’m travelling and handling other projects.

How would you describe Iyanya?
Great guy with great talent. He’s like the best singer I’ve ever known and he gives me good reason to think so.

Before the breakup, were you envisaging a situation where the relationship would lead to marriage?
I don’t know.

But you gave the relationship your best shot?
I’m sure if you are in a relationship, everybody gives his or her best to it. We all gave our best.

What was the real problem?
The real problem was what I spoke about in the two interviews I granted to Bella Naija and Toolz.

What is it that people don’t know about you?
Back in Ghana, you hardly see me hanging out with any guy. This is because I’m always indoors even when I’m not shooting a film or travelling out of the country. But here, in Nigeria, the reason people get so many stories to tell about me is that each time I’m in the country and they see me in the company of some of my colleagues, they will start drawing conclusions that we are dating. That has been my problem in Nigeria.

I cannot control what people say about me because I don’t live here. Sometimes, I need these guys to take me around. In Ghana, I drive myself around and do my things in my own way and nobody says anything about me. It looks as if I can’t have friends any more.

If anybody they see me with is going to be an issue, then there is already an issue. Am I the only person that hangs out with friends? All these things doesn’t disturb me either because I’m a free spirit. I think people should stop linking me with guys. I’m not hiding anything. If I have a boyfriend I should be proud enough to talk about him.

Jeez, is there no limit any more? These pop stars are going crazy!. Lol. Lady Gaga posed completely n*de for V magazine. She posed on a stool with her legs apart while using just her hands to cover her privvvvvates. Check the full photo after the cut…not suitable for work place

Mixed Reactions Greet Governors' Visits To Ex-Leaders

visits of some Northern states' governors to three former Nigerian leaders - Generals Olusegun Obasanjo, Abdusalami Abubakar and Ibrahim Babangida.

photo

Four of the governors - Murtala Nyako (Adamawa); Sule Lamido(Jigawa); Aliyu Wamakko (Sokoto); and Rabiu Kwakwanso (Kano) - had last Saturday visited Obasanjo in Abeokuta where they discussed issues that have to do with the polity, especially the 2015 general elections.

On Monday, Wamakko, Lamido, Kwakwanso and Niger State Governor Babangida Aliyu headed for Minna, where they reportedly discussed similar issues, including the political crisis in Rivers State with Abubakar and Babangida.

At the meeting which was to have also been attended by Nyako, the governors appealed to Abubakar and Babangida to ask President Goodluck Jonathan to urgently bring the Rivers State crisis to an end.

While the main opposition political parties - the Action Congress of Nigeria and the Congress for Progressive Change - described the visits as a welcome development, the Coalition of Northern Politicians, Academics, Professionals and Businessmen and the Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, disagreed.

In a telephone interview with one of our correspondents, the National Publicity Secretary of the ACN, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said, "I think the four or five governors made their case. They are worried and concerned about the growing climate of political intolerance and impunity and that these have consequences not only for democracy but for the 2015 elections.

"They are concerned that the current attitude and frame of mind of the President regarding some governors even those considered as dissidents is worrisome to them.

"They are saying that at the rate things are going there might be no election in 2015.

"This is aligning with our own position about four months ago that we are concerned about certain actions of the government. Then we cried out about the despotic nature of the President but we were taken on by the President's spokesperson that it was not despotism.

"This is what these governors are seeing now and what they are saying by their visit; in calling on all of these former Heads of State and elder statesmen is to appeal to the President to allow for democracy and a peaceful election in 2015."

Mohammed's counterpart in the CPC, Rotimi Fashakin, argued that some of the issues raised by the governors were capable of derailing the nation's democracy if not urgently addressed.

He said, "There is nothing wrong with people going round to troubleshoot and bring about resolution of crises.

"You will find out that in situations like this, you must be able to explore all avenues.

"The First Lady has confessed that as far back as four years ago, she bore a grudge against the Rivers State governor and it was because of this that we are witnessing what we are seeing now.

"Some of these issues are capable of derailing this democracy; it is understandable why they will continue to explore avenues for peace.

"They are going round to see people they feel can have some influence on the President and his wife to speak up now so that we can have a stable polity."

Their arguements were supported by the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Mr. Otelemaba Amachree, who said the visits were capable of restoring peace to the PDP and ending the crisis in the state.

Amachree, who spoke through his Media Assistant, Mr. Jim Okpiki, argued that Obasanjo, Abubakar and Babangida were still relevant to the Nigerian political clime.

He said, "The truth is that we cannot remove Babangida and Obasanjo in today's politics. Apart from that, Babangida and Abubakar are very influential people that can make things happen."

However, the convener of the CNPAPB, Dr. Junaid Mohammed, believes that the visits were not to salvage the country but the PDP.

Mohammed said that if the governors' actions were to save the country, they should have also visited a former President, Shehu Shagari, and another ex-Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon.

He said, "As far as I can remember, Shagari was a President of this country and he is alive and well. General Gowon, like the others, is a former Head of State, who did this country proud.

"These men were not visited and this goes to prove that these visits have nothing to do with salvaging the country. Indeed, the goal is to salvage the PDP as a party and they have more to do with public relations.

"None of these men that they visited is in a position to salvage the nation. If the nation is to be salvaged, it will not be Babangida or any of these people; it will be salvaged by forces beyond these individuals. As a public relations exercise, I don't mind the governors going to visit former Heads of State but I mind the way it was done because Obasanjo, Babangida, Abdulsalami Abubakar and Gen. (Theophilus) Danjuma, who is also being considered for a similar visit , have only one thing in common: They are stinkingly rich."

To the Rivers State chapter of the PDP, the governors are desperadoes looking for exit plans as their tenure is drawing to an end.

The party, in a statement by the Special Adviser on Media to its Chairman, Mr. Jerry Needam, argued that the visits were not borne out of genuine interest to resolve the lingering political crisis in Rivers State, but to fuel it.

It wondered why the governors who are now "patriots" of democracy could not remove the logs in their eyes before removing the speck in other people's eyes.

"How can any serious minded governor not be worried that the average Northerner today lives in grave fear of insecurity and poverty and yet these busybody governors are wasting tax- payers' money, flying on chartered executive jets to stoke trouble in Rivers State," the party said.

Rooney Saga Could Affect Man United – Mourinho 24

hinted David Moyes of possible risks that could disrupt Manchester United's season if he delays Wayne Rooney's exit.

The Blues had an opening offer for the striker immediately rejected last Tuesday and are expected to return with an improved bid.

Mourinho suggested a long transfer saga could affect the "balance" of a team very close to the start of the season, or even after the new campaign has begun.

"It depends on the philosophy of each one," Mourinho told reporters at a press conference in Jakarta. "The sooner you have the players the better. You know the squad you have, you know what you have to work with, you have time for that.

"But, yes, he (Moyes) is right. The market is open until September 2 and many clubs are waiting to the last moment to make their decisions, and those decisions affect a number of other clubs. The one who sells has to go and buy, then they have to buy to replace, so no club is safe. Until the last minute, a club can go there and 'steal' a player. I don't mean steal a player, but steal the balance that a manager has when he's working with a team."

Kanye West to make a fashion comeback

Los Angeles: Rapper-designer Kanye West is reportedly ready to make a comeback with a clothing brand, Unisex's Spring-Summer 2014 collection to be unveiled in September.

The New Slaves hitmaker released his debut womenswear collection, DW by Kanye West, in 2011 and also showed it at Paris Fashion Week for two seasons.

West reportedly spent a week in Milan working on a new collection comprising 100 pieces with the help of Diesel's artistic director, Nicola Formichetti.

The 36-year-old also said that his first collection was better and artful. "The first collection was way better than the second, it was more artful. It was 30 collections in one," femalefirst.co.uk quoted West as saying.

"It just takes time for me to slow down and think like a normal person. I have to somehow put out something that says, 'I look sensible,'" he added.

West recently collaborated with French label APC for menswear collection, which sold out within hours of being made available online.

Police arrest Boko Haram member in Ogun •I fled Maiduguri to evade arrest —Suspect

A 22-year-old man, identified as Giraima Umaru Suri, has been arrested by the men of the Ogun State Police Command, at Isheri Kara area of Ifo Local Government Area of the state, having confessed to being a member of the Boko Haram sect.

Suri, who hails from Bulunkutu Kasuwa, Maiduguri, said he fled from Maiduguri to the South West, due to the manhunt against members of the sect in some troubled areas by security operatives.

According to a statement signed by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi and made available to the Nigerian Tribune on Tuesday, the suspect was arrested on a tip off and was picked up by security operatives in the state.

Adejobi, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said Suri confessed to the police to have participated in the killing of many innocent Nigerians before the declaration of the state of emergency in three states including Borno State by the Federal Government.

The PPRO said the command  appreciated the good people of Ogun State for their collaboration and sharing of information that make the police  proactive in preventing crimes and criminality in the state.

Adejobi restated the commitment of the state commissioner of police, Ikemefuna Okoye of adequate protection of lives and property and confidentiality of any  information given  to the police.

The command also urged the general public to always share information with the State Intelligence Bureau of the police on phone number 08036197688 in order to nip any crime in the bud.

Commotion over ‘mermaid’ in Ibadan

Isale Asaka, Foko, Ibadan, an erstwhile sleepy and serene community in the capital city of Oyo State, came alive on Tuesday and it became a Mecca of sort, when the news of a miniature mermaid (omo Yemoja) filtered through the city.

It took a while before the Nigerian Tribune crew got access to the house, a storey building, and when it finally did, the head of the family, Alhaji Raufu A. Salau, said he was sleeping upstairs when he heard a lot of unusual noise which forced him to come downstairs.

According to him, “Ramota, his granddaughter, sells fried and roasted fish in the house and, as usual, purchased a carton of frozen fish that morning. She was in the process of cleaning the fish and separating those to be roasted from the ones to be fried when she was said to have screamed out loud and called on neighbours to come to her aid.”

Salau, a retired civil servant, said he heard people asking after him but rather than come upstairs to see him, the lady ran to meet her Shehu, an Islamic cleric, who followed her home and offered some prayers in the Islamic way before the neighbours, who had begun to converge on the scene, could take the pictures of the strange “fish.” The first person who took the picture of the strange fish was said to have had his phone shattered mysteriously.

Alhaja Alirat, a member of the community, told the Nigerian Tribune that she did not see the mermaid but the lady who claimed to have seen it, but declined to speak with the press, told her that the mermaid, though very small in size initially, grew bigger and was fish from waist downward and human being from waist upwards, with mouth, nose, eyes and long hair, which it was swinging to cover its eyes when the mammoth crowd thronged to the scene to look at it.

She also said it was alleged that the mermaid spoke, begging Ramota, the fish seller, not to expose it but that Ramota shouted out of fear.

Meanwhile, one Miss Osungbemi, an Osun worshipper, claimed that the mermaid was on a mission to uplift Ramota financially.

Rather than shout, she said Ramota ought to have looked for a big basin filled with water and throw the mermaid inside, adding that she should have then called on Osun worshippers who would call the mermaid by its cognomen and tutor the lady on how to appease it.

She said Ramota would have become a consultant, diagnosing and treating people with the aid of the mermaid, who would be telling her what to do, even as she claimed that someone in the house where the mermaid was found must have worshipped Osun at a point in his or her life.

Some members of the crowd, who did not volunteer their names, said it was Ramota’s mother that had worshipped Osun before and that before the occurrence, she had received messages to visit the Osun Osogbo grove to worship Osun, but that she had been complaining that there was no time.

Responding to Osungbemi’s claims, Alhaja Alirat said “the tradition to which one is born is quite different from the religion one is practising,” adding that if one was born into Osun tradition and one became a Muslim and, at a point in time, received a message to worship Osun, there was nothing bad in it.

“It does not affect one’s religion. In fact, it is for one’s good, as worshipping the Osun would improve one’s fortune in life and make the person a better human being. At least, the Holy Book says we should give to Caesar what is Caesar’s,” she said.

All efforts to see the mermaid, however, failed, as some people claimed that the mermaid had been moved out of the house while others said it was still in the house and that Ramota had been taken to the police station at Mapo.

At the Mapo Police Station, however, the Tribune crew sighted Ramota, who was with her baby and her Shehu, the Islamic cleric.

It was certain that the police were yet to sight the mermaid as of press time.

Different contingent of policemen sent to the house failed to bring the mermaid out, as the divisional police officer later directed the press to the state Police Public Relations Officer, Bisi Ilobanafor.

The PPRO said there was no issue in the mermaid story as she spoke directly with Ramota, who told her that she did not see any mermaid, but that it was people who changed her story.

The PPRO said there were many creatures in the ocean, adding that what the fish seller saw could have been one of them but certainly not a mermaid.

Meanwhile, it was overheard that the mermaid had been taken to the house of the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Alhaji AbdulAzeez Arisekola-Alao, in Ibadan.

All efforts to get Aare Arisekola-Alao on phone failed, as he did not pick his call but one of his aides, who did not want his name in print, confirmed that it was a big crayfish that was brought to Aare Arisekola’s gate and not a mermaid.

He said the  people who came around were turned back, adding that Arisekola-Alao did not see the crayfish.

A traditionalist, Dr Olowoglass by name, said he was born into traditional worship over 60 years ago and had never heard that a mermaid visited someone in the manner being broadcast around.

He said the president of traditionalists told him that he had seen the purported mermaid and could not say whether it was a mermaid or not

Gunmen Kill Policeman, 2 Others In Bauchi

Three persons including a mobile policeman were left dead when unknown gunmen Monday night struck at a First Bank branch and police station in Drazo, headquarters of a Local Government Area in Bauchi state.

The armed robbers similarly sent to the hospital a lady and a teenage hawker in the pandemonium that left people running for dear lives

Confirming the incident to our correspondent, the Police Public Relations Officer ASP, Hassan Mohammed, said that “the gunmen stormed the town around nine o’clock in the night.

Mohammed explained that the gunmen attacked Darazo Divisional Police Station and First Bank, and said, however, that the police repelled the robbery and the burning of the police station.

“There was a fight between the attackers and our men, while we are exchanging fire with the hoodlums a mobile policeman, a corporal, was shot dead”, the police spokesman said.

According to him, a lady and a teenage hawker were hit by stray bullets, two of whom  died in the hospital while the other is currently receiving treatment.

Nigeria's vigilantes take on Boko Haram 3

northern Nigerian city of Maiduguri to fight the militant Islamist group Boko Haram, a move welcomed by the military as it battles to quell the insurgency, as the BBC's Will Ross reports.

Military checkpoints have been a common sight in the northern Nigerian city of Maiduguri - the birthplace of the militant Islamist group Boko Haram - for several years.

But these days the people asking the questions at the ubiquitous roadblocks are often not in uniform.

They are civilians who are adding their muscle to the fight against Boko Haram, which is waging a military campaign to create an Islamic state across Nigeria.

More than 2,000 people have been killed since it launched an insurgency in 2009.

"When the situation became too bad to endure, we decided to find the Boko Haram members ourselves," said Mohammed, who was stopping and searching cars at one of the checkpoints.

"Whenever we see them we arrest them and hand them over to the army. Some of us know these people," he said, adding that he and his colleagues are not paid for the work.

The vigilantes started appearing on the streets in early June, after a state of emergency was declared in May and thousands of extra troops sent to the area to wipe out the militants.

The civilian-run checkpoints have since spread across almost every district of the mainly Muslim town. They are mostly manned by teenage boys and young men in their twenties but there are also some women searching female passengers.

Mohammed said that when they detain a suspected militant, "we bring the holy Koran and then ask him to swear on it. If he's lying we are sure he will die".

'Idiotic thieves'

The vigilantes all carry crude weapons; sticks, machetes, knives and metal pipes. Considering the Islamist militants are known to be well armed you might think the vigilante members feel exposed.
Boko Haram continues to stage attacks despite the state of emergency

"It is thanks to the protection of God - God is our guide whenever you do something with good intention you will definitely succeed," said Mohammed, who normally works as a lorry driver.

"If we are allowed to operate without any interference, definitely we will bring an end to this problem," he said.

His colleague Salisu, normally a bricklayer, said that the vigilantes, and not Boko Haram, are carrying out the work of Allah.

"It is a mission for the sake of Allah.

"If we refuse to expose these irresponsible archaic hypocritical idiotic thieves, then we will face the wrath of the Koran."

The Nigerian military Joint Task Force (JTF) has welcomed the presence of the vigilantes on the streets of Maiduguri.

"These gestures are commendable as it underscores the desired positive civil-military collaboration necessary for the success of the ongoing internal security operation," said Brig-Gen Chris Olukolade just after civilians had started appearing at the roadblocks.

It is not clear if the vigilantes, also known as the civilian JTF, will later be armed with guns by the government.

Many of the soldiers deployed in northern Nigeria are from other parts of the country and do not know the Kanuri language, the most common used in Maiduguri.

'Guns in coffins'

"Without knowing the environment and the people, building confidence and establishing a presence is very difficult," said Kole Shettima, chairman of the Centre of Democracy and Development in Abuja.

"The vigilantes know the local population and can help fish out the insurgents."

"But increased conflict between the vigilantes and Boko Haram is possible and this would further militarise the society and make it extremely difficult to see and end to the violence," he said.

"A new group of young people who may get armed could then try to get what they can out of the situation. They may themselves become a danger and mete out their own form of justice."

There are already some reports from Maiduguri of vigilantes killing people, rather than handing suspects over to the army.

In order to sidestep the tighter security presence in Maiduguri, the Islamist militants have diversified their tactics.

Earlier this month several suspected Boko Haram members disguised themselves as women.

They hid their faces behind veils and their guns beneath full-length robes.

Local reports from Maiduguri said their mission was thwarted and soldiers shot several of them dead.

In June eyewitnesses said Islamist insurgents shot dead 13 people in an apparent reprisal attack on members of a vigilante group.

They had sneaked their weapons into the area by pretending to be on their way to a burial, hiding their weapons in the coffin.

The recent attacks on schools have also proved how vulnerable the local population is. Over the past month 48 students and seven teachers have been killed in four attacks in northern Nigeria.

In a video on the internet, Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau said his group supported the recent attacks on schools, although he denied being behind the attack on Mamudo in Yobe State where at least 29 students were killed.

There are dangers associated with relying on vigilante groups to offer security for the population.

But as Islamist militants seem determined to attack softer targets, the vigilantes could play a vital role in trying to thwart attacks and save lives, some analysts say.

A+ A A- Agreement with ASUU impossible to implement —FG

AddThis Social Bookmark Button

THE Federal Government declared on Tuesday that the 2009 Agreement signed with ASUU is practically impossible for any administration to implement, but assured that very soon, the issue and crisis would be finally resolved.

Minister of Labour and Productivity, Chief Emeka Wogu, made this known when he appeared before the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee (NWC) on Tuesday to render account of his achievements as a minister, appointed on the platform of the ruling party.

Chief Wogu, who was briefing the Alhaji Bamanga Tukur-led committee at the Wadata Plaza National Secretariat of the PDP noted the relative industrial peace and harmony being enjoyed over a long time in the country, employment and job creation, social security and improvement in the National Minium wage and its implementation as vital highlights of his performance.

Chief Wogu told the PDP National Chairman and members of his committee that he met on ground an agreement signed by the previous government with ASUU when he resumed as the Minister of Labour, but stated that the agreement is impossible to implement.

The minister declared that the present administration, led by President Goodluck Jonathan is finding a way out and doing everything possible to resolve the issue to the satisfaction of everybody.

He said: “I inherited an agreement signed by the Federal Government with ASUU and that agreement was practically impossible for any administration to implement. We are still discussing with them, if I leave here, I am going to the Office of Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) where we are meeting with them. I hope that very soon, we will resolve it.”

On the job creation efforts of the government, he stated that presently the Community Service Scheme Women and Youth Empowerment  Programme of the Subsidy Re-Investment and Empowerment Programme (SURE-P) of the Federal Government has already engaged 120,000 persons out of the 185,000 targeted for the year 2013.

He pointed out that as social security is an evolving structure, Nigeria is still basically trying to grow the concept to an acceptable international standard.

“We are at the stage of putting in place a social security policy that would reflect the nation’s needs and level of economic development, taking into consideration the traditional as well as the modern socio-cultural values and norms,” he said.

With the passing of the Employee Compensation Act in 2010, he said the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund was resuscitated and currently functioning, adding that it has the new mandate to provide social security services to the disadvantaged and vulnerable members of the society.

He said that the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has been in the fore-front of job creation, especially in the area of skills acquisition and empowerment of unemployed people.

States and private varsities should not go on strike - Gov Aliyu
Niger State Governor, Dr Muazu Babangida Aliyu has said that lecturers of states and private universities in the country  should not join federal university staff to embark on industrial action, as the  strike embarked upon by ASUU lingers on.

He stated  this in Minna on Tuesday when he received members of the governing board of the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University( IBBU) Lapai who paid him a courtesy call at the government house,

He argued that  in a federation, what obtains at the Federal level should not necessarily obtain at the state level especially if the demands of the aggrieved lecturers were  not the same.

‘The union at the centre cannot ask people at the state to go on strike, state universities are like private universities, they cannot go on strike just because their colleagues at the Federal universities are on strike,” he said.

ASUU disowns UNILORIN chapter chairman
As more controversies trail the ongoing strike by ASUU, members of the Ilorin zone of the union have disowned another university lecturer, who is also a contentious chairman of its University of Ilorin chapter, Professor Abdulwahab Egbewole, declaring that he is not in a position to speak for the union.

But Professor Egbewole, who reacted swiftly in a telephone interview, has challenged the chairmen of ASUU in other universities in the zone, pointing out that they were taking part in an illegal industrial action.

They further alleged that the professor, who they said had been axed from the union and whose ‘election’ had been declared null and void by a competent court of law, had been making statements inimical to the success of the ongoing strike embarked upon by members of the union.

ASUU made this disclaimer in a statement dated 16 July, entitled; “Of Impostors and Outlaws at the University Of Ilorin: ASUU’s Statement on the comments by one professor Wahab Egbewole on the Industrial Action of the Union,” but circulated to journalists on Tuesday.

Signed by Dr Ayan Ayanleke of the Ekiti State University (EKSU), Professor Akinola A. P. of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Dr Seye Abiona of the Osun State University, Osogbo, Dr. Alex Odiyi of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Dr. Oyegoke O. O. of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso and Dr. Busuyi Mekusi of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, all chairmen of the various chapters, the statement said the claim by Professor Egbewole that he was not part of the strike because he was not contacted by the national organ of ASUU was an insult.

“In the past few weeks, the press had been inundated by statements made by one Professor Abdulwahab Egbewole of the Faculty of Law, University of Ilorin, purportedly on behalf of Unilorin ASUU. The statements expressed Professor Egbewole’s opposition to the current national industrial action of the union.

“To add insult to injury, Professor Egbewole also said that he was not part of the ongoing strike action partly because he was not consulted by national office of ASUU. The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) wishes to state for the umpteenth time that Professor Egbewole is an impostor who is not known and has never been known as an officer of the union. He has been expelled from the union as far back as 2002 (see the advert in The Punch of December 23, 2004, page 9).

“More seriously, the National Industrial Court has, on Febuary 23, 2013 through Honourable Justice O. A. Obaseki-Osaghae, declared the kangaroo ‘election’ of Professor Egbewole and others as illegal.

“Egbewole’s continued statements and actions purportedly in the name of ASUU, therefore, constitute a slap in the face of the judicial system of this country,” the statement read.

World gets first glimpse of William-Kate's royal baby

Britain's Prince William and his wife Kate proudly showed off their newborn baby son to the world for the first time on Tuesday, cradling the future king in their arms as they left hospital to go home. A smiling Kate told the massed ranks of international media that motherhood was "very

emotional", while William said they were still choosing a name and joked that he already changed the baby's nappy.

The new third-in-line to the throne raised a tiny hand above his white blankets but remained peaceful, despite deafening cheers from well-wishers and the shouts of photographers outside St Mary's Hospital in London.

"It's a special time," said the 31-year-old Duchess of Cambridge, who was wearing a cornflower-blue dress with her brown hair flowing loose. "I think any new parent would know what this feeling feels like."

The duke, also 31, told reporters that "he's got her looks, thankfully" as Kate playfully demurred, then added: "He's got a good pair of lungs on him, that's for sure."

The royal baby's birth at 4:24pm (1524 GMT) on Monday sparked a global media frenzy, fuelled by the fascination that has surrounded the couple ever since they married in April 2011.

Congratulations have poured in from around the globe for the baby, a great-grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II, who will one day reign over Britain and 15 other Commonwealth realms around the world.

The newborn prince became quite the buzz on Twitter too as many, including celebrities, took to Twitter to express how they felt about the newborn.

Kate initially held the baby as the royal couple emerged from the front door of the hospital's exclusive private Lindo Wing, before passing him to her husband, who was dressed in a blue shirt and jeans.

The scene was reminiscent of when William was introduced to the world by his parents Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana outside the same hospital wing in 1982.

Balding William joked that despite the baby boy's own thin coating of hair "he's got way more than me, thank God".

Asked about changing the nappies of his son, who weighed in at a healthy eight pounds six ounces (3.8 kilograms) when he was born, the prince said: "We've done that already."

"He's done his first nappy already," added Kate.

The traditional names George and James have been favoured by bookmakers as fit for a king, but the royal couple gave nothing away.

"We are still working on a name so we will have that as soon as we can," William said.

After speaking briefly to the press, the royal couple returned to the hospital before re-emerging minutes later with their son in a car seat.

Like millions of other fathers, William briefly appeared to wrestle with the car seat, before securing it in the back of a black Range Rover parked outside the hospital and driving his family back to their home at Kensington Palace.

Kate's sister Pippa was reportedly waiting for them at the palace.

Hordes of journalists had camped outside the hospital for three weeks waiting for the baby, testament to the enduring appeal of the British monarchy and particularly the glamorous William and Kate.

Cannon fire salutes rang out on Tuesday at the Tower of London and Green Park in celebration of the birth, while the bells at the 11th century Westminster Abbey pealed across the capital for three hours. http://www.hindustantimes.com/Images/Popup/2013/7/royalbaby6.jpg

The couple had earlier received their first visitors when Kate's parents Michael and Carole Middleton, self-made millionaires who run a party supplies business, arrived in a humble black London taxi.

"He's absolutely beautiful. They're both doing very well and we're so thrilled," a beaming Carole Middleton said afterwards.

Charles arrived around two hours later with his second wife Camilla in a chauffeur-driven limousine.

"Marvellous, thank you very much, absolutely wonderful," said Charles.

At Buckingham Palace, crowds straining for a glimpse of the official birth announcement on a gold easel in the forecourt were treated to a special edition of the Changing the Guard ceremony featuring the Cliff Richard song "Congratulations."

The baby will be titled His Royal Highness, Prince (name) of Cambridge -- the blank to be filled in when his name is announced.

William's name was not announced for a week, while the world had to wait a whole month when Charles was born in 1948.

William and Kate did not know the sex of their child until he was born, although the duchess reportedly told a soldier at a St Patrick's Day parade in March: "I'd like to have a boy and William would like a girl."

It is the first time since 1894 that three direct heirs to the throne have been alive at the same time, and the 87-year-old queen said she was "delighted" at the birth of her third great-grandchild.

William and Kate are hugely popular and have been widely credited with revitalising the British royals following decades of scandal and the death of William's mother Diana in a car crash in 1997.

More than 25,300 tweets a minute were sent immediately after news of the birth broke on Monday night, Twitter said, while the hashtag #RoyalBaby was used 900,000 times in the first 24 hours after Kate went into labour.

US President Barack Obama led the international messages of congratulations, which also poured in from Australia, New Zealand, Canada, France, Israel, Japan and Singapore.

10 Ways Ladies Flirt That Men Don’t Notice

Flirting is like a sport, it takes a while to master and properly develop. Men are confusing creatures and sometimes don’t notice all the ways that women flirt.
If you don’t make the opposite s*x aware that you are flirting, there is a good chance they’ll have no idea. Here are the top 10 ways women flirt with men that they don’t notice. After all, some men can be a little clueless.
1. Body Language
Body language is difficult for some men to understand. One would think that ‘crossing and uncrossing your legs’ is a pretty obvious flirting method, especially if you’re wearing a pair of really high heels. It’s a very sexy approach, but some men are too insensitive to realize its considered flirting! If you flirt using body language, you should think of a different approach that all men pick up on. Try a method that involves body contact, like brushing his arm if he makes a funny joke.

    Continue

2. Twisting Your Hair
Men are usually in their own world. If they see a pretty girl, they notice her, but they don’t always pay attention to all the details. Using your hair to be flirtatious is something that men usually aren’t aware of. This can come across as a nervous twitchy habit, instead of something that’s sexy. You don’t need to constantly run your fingers through your hair to get a man’s attention just smile.
3. Freshening up
Not many men notice every little detail about a woman. If they did, we wouldn’t love them as much as we do. If you go to the bathroom to brush your hair halfway into a conversation, they won’t notice. Put as much effort into your appearance as you want before you meet them but it’s better to focus your energy on making great conversations. Save the hair brushing for when you get home.
4. Winking
If you wink at a man, he might think you have a tick. It will get his attention but it won’t leave him thinking you are a sultry seductress. Winking isn’t something that a woman should do. Friends can wink at ladies, but if you want to flirt with a man, don’t wink at him.
5. Laughing At Everything He Says
Laughing can be a great way to flirt – who doesn’t love that ego boost of meeting somebody that finally “gets it.” But if you are speaking to a man and you laugh at everything he says, you’ll only confuse him aside from coming off just plain silly. He’s going to wonder what’s actually so funny.
6. Trying To Make Him Jealous
One terrible way to flirt with someone is to try to make them jealous. Immature men or drama kings may pick up on this, but the mature ones will see right through it. Besides, most guys are too stupid to realize you’re trying to make them jealous. So step up your game and act your age. Using jealousy as a flirting tactic is for children.
7. Keep The Compliments To Yourself
Compliments are like alcohol. They are good in moderation but disastrous in excess. You can compliment a guy on his outfit but you don’t need to tell him how hot he is 10 times. Plus, chances are if you compliment someone as a way of flirting, they will most likely just think you are just being nice. Come up with a more obvious way of flirting that even clueless men will notice.
8. Facebook Flirting
In today’s day and age, Facebook has become a way to meet people. Its a sad fact, but true. If you send someone a flirty message on Facebook, they most likely wont realize that you are flirting with them. Some people don’t check their messages or they don’t always respond. "How I beheaded 100 men, pounded 27 babies & slept with my mother" - Shina Rambo

"How I beheaded 100 men, pounded 27 babies & slept with my mother" - Shina Rambo
When I read this, to say I was shocked would be an understatement. I found it almost unbelievable.. I.e,...I couldn't believe he actually did all these things... but who am I to judge?

It was a beautiful Saturday morning, I was garbed in a pair of jeans, on a pair of Timberland boots, a military sweat shirt, and my JackMoody denim jacket. I had been attacked by men of the underworld the night before whilst we were on production, at the office. So I slung my black Ted Baker satchel across my right shoulder, armed with my camera, my midget, and some other small gizmos.I was more determined, to embark on this adventure, than ever before.

    Continue...

I was headed for the ancient city of brown roofs, Ibadan where a one-time Nigeria’s most notorious and dreaded bandit that ever lived SHINA RAMBO mounted the pulpit to preach!!! What an irony you would say.Now Mathew Oluwanifemi, Shina Rambo was a name that sent shivers down the spine of people who lived in the South West of Nigeria and even outside Nigeria, like Benin Republic and neighborhood, in the 1990’s. He was a hardened criminal, a terror and killer, one whom men of the security agencies will never forget in a haste!

A man mountain, towering about 6ft 5inch, well built, dark skinned and sweltering eyes, he carried out his operations, like a movie, in the broad day light, with sophisticated weapons, and bullet belts and explosives strapped roundabout him! He specialized in robbing exotic cars on highways and banks. Nothing could stop him, not even security operatives, he was totally invincible. He was Shina Rambo! He was born in the year 1958 to a military man who was a bad egg in the service. His father was from Abeokuta in Ogun state, but his mother was a native of Sabongida–Ora in Edo state. His father had over 18 wives, as was the norm for soldiers to impregnate virtually every woman they met where they were posted to.His father used his military influence to rob innocent citizens, and always brought huge amount of money home.

This used to entice little Shina. He recalls, “I remembered when I was about 7 years old, my father

came home with a lot of money, foreign currencies, with blood on it, and they were using something like a woman’s scarf to wipe it, then I asked him, is this an animal’s blood, or human blood? But he wouldn’t answer me, they were just drinking, smoking, and merry making.”Shina was already indoctrinated into the underworld by his father at a tender age of 7 without him knowing it, as he would sit in front of his son, to dismantle and assemble all sorts of weapons and then polishing them in preparation for an operation. This went on for so long till one day, little Shina, entered into his father’s room while he had stepped into the toilet, and saw a dismembered gun on the floor.

He sat down in front of it, and bit by bit, he had assembled it effortlessly in no time at all. His father came out of the toilet, and saw his son, with a loaded gun in his hands. Shina flashed back and said, “That day my father was so disappointed, that he wanted to kill me, he grabbed the gun from my hand and shot straight at me, but I miraculously escaped out of the room. Then he waited for me to be less alert at night he came to my room with a machete and tried to behead me, but once again, I

escaped, but the machete caught my left leg. (rolled up his trouser to show us the large scar, that made everyone sighed in pity)

. It cut me so deep I thought I was never going to walk again. That day I knew I had graduated, all that was left was to pull the trigger, and I was so eager.Shina Rambo became so notorious in no time, and was hell bent on succeeding in his career as an armed robber, that he went through any length to secure spiritual powers for fortification.

To the extent of pounding over 27 live new born babies in the mortar with a pestle, cutting off about 100 human tongues and cooking them to eat, visiting the spiritual river called river of life in Ogoja, Cross Rivers State, living in an Iroko tree for days, and sleeping in the cemetery. He was given a spiritual wife who always followed him for any operation, she dressed like an Alhaja, people thought she was human, but she was a spirit, that was why they never saw her face. He said she was his personal driver, that she could drive from Nigeria to Cotonou, in the speed of light.

Hear him. ”I was involved in so many rituals, that I can’t start naming them now, I was so powerful, I went underground, inside trees that looked like a city, a lot of beautiful houses inside the tree, I had my own too, I went into a river called River of life in Ogoja, where a lot of politicians and wealthy men used to come, I had several personalities, I could change my form whenever I wanted to, that’s why the police were busy killing innocent people, and thought they were killing Shina Rambo. The 9

herbalists that gave me that power, I became stronger than them, one day I went to their shrines, and killed all of them, so that they don’t reveal my secrets. I had too many powers; my spiritual wife could drive any car in this world or out of it, no police vehicle, or anyone for that matter, could ever chase and catch me during an operation.

She was out of this world, and when she had completed her operation, they took her away from me. I could give anything to get powers, and the elders knew, so they also gave me anything I wanted.I once beheaded hundred men, and gave them the heads fresh, they were so happy with me that they made me invincible. No matter the kind of bullet you shot at me, it was just like pure water on my body. I could give anything to get power, but of all the things I did to get power, the one that still breaks my heart the most, is sleeping with my mother.

My father is dead now, but my mother is still alive, and she lives with me she is 85 years old, whenever I set my eyes on her, I just start crying. I can`t bear it.Shina Rambo was a raging terror, he was infallibly dangerous, the police dreaded him, both in Nigeria, and Benin Republic, his place of interest for business.

He would go to police stations, in broad daylight and kill every policeman there, drive to check points and open fire on every policeman on duty, he didn’t like the police at all, and was never afraid of them, he operated in broad day light armed to the teeth looking like Johny Rambo, in the popular Sylvester Stalone movie, “First Blood”.He once robbed 40 exotic cars in one day and drove all of them in a convoy, from Lagos to Cotonou, unstopped.

He was powerful; he was wealthy, and impenetrable. He was a tin god, apparently belched from the very arroyo hell, we all dreaded him. He had a wife and three children, but he lost all of them in one day during a bloody police raid whilst he was away on operation.
His wife was his stabilizing factor his life changed afterwards. He says “my wife was everything to me,

I was forbidden by the elders to sleep with any other woman apart from her, I could gather about 50 women around me in a hotel, and they will just be playing with me, we would smoke, drink, and sniff cocaine, I will give them money but I will never sleep with them. I will go back home to my wife and sleep with her. That was why the police never caught me.She knew my job, she knew what I was, I never left them alone at night, I operated in the day time and go back home to my family at night. I had everything, I was very wealthy, I once spent 50 million naira in a day. I did it a lot, there was one day that we were coming from an operation and it seemed as if my powers were going to fail me, the police and the army were almost closing in on us, so we had to drive into a crowd and threw millions of naira in the air, there was commotion, everybody was busy picking naira notes even the police, until we escaped.

I was too rich, but anything the devil gives you never lasts, he will collect more from you, it’s only the devil that will give you Fila, (cap) and ask for Iro and Buba.(wrapper and top). I lost everything, all the money, my family; I was so powerful the police couldn’t catch me but I lost it all.I had to surrender myself to the police, and I was arrested and jailed for 11 years.

When I was serving my jail term in Agodi prisons, Ibadan, Prophet T.O Obadare came visiting, and having been encouraged several times by the Christian brothers and sisters in the prison to give my life to Christ, he prayed for me and converted me, and changed my name to Oluwanifemi, and it was so miraculous, the next day I woke up and started speaking in tongues. It was during the time of President Olusegun Obasanjo, that we were granted freedom.

At this point, I was glued to my seat, the revival where Shina Rambo gave this exclusive confession was on an open ground revival in the ancient city of Ibadan, right in front of me, on stage, was Evangelist Mathew Oluwanifemi, the once feared Shina Rambo, clad in a loose fitting shirt, black pants and a pair of leather sandals with a black Holy Bible in his hands, gigantic dark skinned and bald headed, still had those fiery looks, and stealth movement.

I was more transfixed than focused, God is indeed awesome, he picked the offering basket raised it to the congregation prayed and asked who had anything to give to God, at first I was reluctant, my mind was occupied and out of an innate compulsion, sheer curiosity I stood up, dipped my hand in my pocket walked towards him briskly and calculatedly brought out my offering, dropped it into the basket, and looked deep into his eyes, I had too many things to ask him, there were too many questions unanswered.

He looked back at me, and spoke in Yoruba, saying God bless you my brother; we know your type when we see them. The congregation broke into a mild giggle, as all eyes were on me as I went back to my seat, with a lot of things on my mind, and the red light on my midget still blinking, in the breast pocket of my jacket…
